Stamp Lighters

For decades, the Zippo bottom stamp has marked the authenticity of every genuine Zippo lighter. The simple system of dots and slashes, initiated to aid identification of lighters coming back to Zippo for repair, was later replaced by letters and Roman numerals, and still later by letters and digits signifying the month and year of manufacture. This lighter collection tells the story of our stamping process and in three unique ways. Add a piece of history into your pocket with one of these elegantly designed lighters!

Imprint Methods

Engraving

Zippo has two processes for engraving: Auto engrave and Laser engrave. Auto engrave is performed by skilled artisans to inscribe an image into the product using creative fill patterns. A dimensional effect can be achieved by using directional fill patterns. Laser engraving is computer programmed to generate an accurate replication of an imprint.

Double Lusture

The design is double etched into the lighter. This layered process displays a multi dimensional effect. A portion of the design will be chromed out for impact.

Lifetime Guarantee

All Zippo pocket lighters, are backed by the famous Zippo Guarantee - 'It works or we fix it free.' Any Zippo pocket lighter, when returned to our factory, will be put in first class mechanical condition free of charge, for we have yet to charge a cent for the repair of a Zippo pocket lighter, regardless of age or condition. The finish, however, is not guaranteed.

Case

Standard case shape featuring rounded corners and top with a flat bottom. A five-barrel hinge joins the top and the bottom.

Insert

Standard insert with 16 holes in the chimney (8 per side).

Bottom Stamp

Bottom stamp with Zippo logo from the period authenticates this lighter as genuine Zippo.

Packaging

Unless otherwise stated, every Zippo windproof lighter is packaged in the 'one box'. The patented 'one box' is attractive, easy to handle, and designed to display more of the lighter than ever.
